The Greatest Words of Muhammad Ali, for Louis Vuitton

Yasiin Bey

As a brand, I can't really say that Louis Vuitton is one of my favorites nor does it fill me with excitement or joy when I see an advert in a glossy magazine. These videos, however, are something different and it is purely down to the subject matter, artists involved and the way they are shot.

Created for the luxury brand's Core Values campaign Stuart McIntyre directes these two striking and poetic videos featuring emcee Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) and calligrapher, Niels Shoe Meulman in a homage to sport’s greatest showman, Muhammad Ali

Drawing on Ali’s most famous quotes, Bey takes on the role of storyteller, versing inspiring soundbites, whilst Meulman skillfully scribes onto the canvas of the ring to honor the legendary heavyweight champ.

You can experience the full Muhammad Ali tribute in all it's glory on the Louis Vuitton Journeys site: louisvuittonjourneys.com/thegreatest The website promises more so stay tuned.

Ornamental Glass Sign Writing

"Ornamental Glass" isn't a phrase many people would expect me to get excited about, but how can you not when you watch this short documentry about sign writer David Smith by Danny Cooke

Although I'm not going to be the the most prominent promoter of his design style, I do, without question admire the abilities he possesses and the confidence in which he practices his craft.

As with a lot of crafts, David's world is one that's dying out, but should be be kept alive!

BMX Gods in Barcelona

Stefan and Simone in Barcelona from Nike 6.0 on Vimeo.

Don't know who Stefan Lantschner and Simone Barraco are, but boy these guys can ride. I've always wanted to ride BMX but not really built for it!

This is a really nicely shot video too, so if you don't watch it for the riding skills, watch it for the production !

Ephemicropolis

You've got to admire artist Peter Root for having the patience & steady hand to place over 100,000 staples on a lobby floor to create his Ephemicropolis vision.

Check out his website for more interesting geekyness!:
